It was through a drama serial that I got to know Romance of the Three Kingdom (RTK) a.k.a San Guo Yan Yi. I could still remember the 1st episode I watched was the Battle of Chibi and it was telecasted through Channel 8 on Saturdays at 2:30 p.m.. Primary 5 back then, I could barely understand those 'ancient' Chinese the characters used. However, I managed to make out a bit of what was actually happening.
My interest in RTK grew and I started out with reading the novel. Then, I moved on to buy books discussing the events and characters of RTK. I must say they have really taught me a lot other than allowing me to know more about RTK. For example, I got this book named " Lessons and Virtues from San Guo" (direct translation). In it, the authour discussed not only about good values from the story but also supplement them with examples.
As I was still young when I first watched the RTK TV drama serial, its VCD I received as birthday present a couple of years ago helped in my understanding of RTK. At first, it was more of a documentary then drama to me. However, as time went by, especially in the later part of the drama, it turned out to be a tragically sad drama (Zhuge Liang's death, followed by Shu's fall)
