And input from other members to fill any holes.

Veterans came home after the Paris Caucas with the idea of a Untied Organization. One that

would link all Veterans together and give them the comaraderie, they had came to know while

in the service. However once home it soon became apparent of the need to help the Veterans

That were homeless and sick. And from this beginning, stemmed an organization we know as

The American Legion. Three Million Members dedicated to Community, God , and Country.

The San Antonio Caucas was held on April 21-22, 1919.

Temporary guidelines and Officers were set up, and 25 Delegates where selected to go to the

St. Louis Caucas to be held May  5-8, 1919. Of the 25 delegates two where from the now 21st

district area. S.P. Boone of Brady & Leroy Nicholson of Ballinger.

Offices held by members on the Dept. level including those before 1935.(Orginal District lines

were the same as congressional districts. There are no records of the 21st district before 1935).
