The Headlines in all of the local papers carried news of the strike in the Colca Canyon. Our eyes bugged out when we saw the photos on the front page. Even before piecing the story together with our High School Spanish, we knew the strike was much bigger than anything we had expected when we were evacuating the Canyon.
