I saw your home made fish tanks. Was it hard to make them, what
kind of glass did you use, what kind of glue did you use, do they leak? - Bill |
| Answer |
They are easy to make if you have glass cutting tools. You can
order cut glass from your local glass store, just get the sides lightly sanded. You can
get adhesive from any hardware store, 100% clear silicon sealant. Give it plenty of time
to cure. Glue all sides on top of the bottom piece and the left/right side between the
front and back. |

I have some extra glass from old picture frames that is 1/8 inch
thick. They are all 20 inch square. Could I make an aquarium out of the glass or will it
not be thick enough? |

It would not be a good idea to use them at that size.
You could cut them to make tanks that are 10"H.x10"D.x20"L. But without
some type of trim for the top, I don't know how it would hold up. You'd be better off to
buy tanks at a walmart/kmart type store when they are on sale and use your glass to make
tops. Then by ordering your equipment on-line, you'd save your self some $$$. |
