By a Thread, a full-length one act written by Diane Flacks, and Mainstream, a 15-minute excerpt written by Matt MacLennan and Tim Mooney were produced as a double-bill during the Montreal Fringe Festival in June 2001.
Mainstream, starring Tim Mooney, is a section of text taken from a new
full-length comedy by the same name. This 15-minute segment is dominated by Chuff McKinnley. Chuff is a motivational speaker come to save the protagonist (and the rest of the world) from going awry.
By A Thread, starring Mika Collins, is a one-woman show written by Toronto writer/actor, Diane Flacks. It portrays Rose, an artist, who confronts her abusive past. Nobodyís victim, Rose is an absurdly honest and intriguing character. The play has been work shopped and produced extensively in Toronto (at the Factory Theatre, Crow's Theatre, Tarragon Theatre and by Mything Productions) by actress and author Diane Flacks.
